DNC Special Reports: The Bush Budget Disaster

I've written about Bush's proposed budget before, but the DNC (now squeaky clean with Howard Dean) has come out with a state-by-state breakdown that is particularly illuminating. I wonder how Republican governors will be explaining these cuts to their constituents.

For instance, in Ohio Bush wants to cut $32.7 million for homeland security, $1.9 billion from Medicaid, $345.6 million from No Child Left Behind (that's underfunding, not a cut), $24.7 million from job training programs, and clean water programs by $21.8 million. Not bad for a president who claims that he can defend us from terrorists, teach children through standardized testing, and improve our environment by letting the utilities industry self-regulate their emissions.
