To end the day on a positive note, there's a fantastic review over on CHUD for the new Heat special edition DVD. This crime drama from director Michael Mann stuns me anew every time I watch it. I'll have to track down this new edition, since it sounds like the second disc has some fascinating materials on the research that went into one of the best crime dramas ever made. The film got a lot of press when it paired DeNiro and Pacino -- and trust me, the buzz about their performances was right on -- but this film is so good that it would be a shame to focus only on those two.
